Tom Greene Appointed Executive Director, Financial Crisis Commission (People)

Under the Fraud Enforcement & Recovery Act of 2009, Congress appointed a Commission to investigate the causes – domestic and global – of the current financial and economic crisis.  The Commission must report their findings to Congress by December 2010.

Earlier this week, that Commission appointed Tom Greene as their new Executive Director.  Tom Greene has served in the California Attorney General’s Office for over 25 years – most recently as Chief Assistant Attorney General, Public Rights Division. He is no stranger to crisis investigations; having led the team that prosecuted multiple civil cases during the corporate crisis that was Enron, and settlement discussions with companies stemming from California’s energy crisis.  He also led the path forward for state antitrust and the multistate process and will bring that extensive legal and investigative knowledge to his new role.  We wish him well!

Job Seeker tip: Greene will be staffing the Commission’s Executive Office shortly and expects to hire about 25 attorneys for the 15-24 month gig.
